The great donut contest

Have you always wanted to create your own donut? Do you have a flavor you are dying to try? Think you have the perfect creation rattling around inside your head? Take one of these donuts, cake or, raised. Create your masterpiece and get it named after you. See the rules below after the fold.

Rules of the contest:

  1. Submit one recipe for either a cake or a raised donut. Pick your best one. We know you have hundreds of ideas.

  2. Base flavors are vanilla for raised donuts and Vanilla, Chocolate, Blueberry, or Red Velvet for Cake Flavors.

  3. Our base glaze is confectioners sugar

  4. Our base frostings are: Vanilla and Chocolate

  5. You can use pretty much whatever ingredients we can get commercially with the exception of nuts. We remain a peanut free shop and we continue that committement. We want to feature these wonderful creations, so please don't use ingredients that we can only get through your cousin who lives in the Arctic Circle and can only be harvested during the August ice melt.

  6. Fill Out the form found at this link: The Great Donut Contest

  7. Submit your entry by April 30, 2021.

  8. Our panel (well, us really) will choose the 3 best finalists and will make those donuts to your specification. We will invite you and a friend to help us make your entry. This way you can tell us what we are doing wrong.

  9. We will then put your donuts to the test and ask our Daylight fans to vote on which donut they like the best. This includes pictures and voting online. We might even make enough for people to taste!

  10. The winners will have the donut named after them and we will feature it in the correct season (e.g., Pumpkin Spice would run in the fall).

  11. By entering, you agree to let us make and sell your donut. Sorry, no royalties on this one. We really are doing this for the fun of it.

  12. That's it. Simple glory. We can't wait to see what you've got.
